TRAINING
Implicit Bias Mitigation
Training area of Focus:
Improving Ourselves by Understanding Human Bias
“When we treat people who don’t know they are demonstrating bias, in a way that suggests there is something evil about them, we not only put them on the defensive, but we also lose the ability to influence them because they have no idea what we are focused on”.
Human bias can be thought of in its most basic terms as a hard-wired survival mechanism. All humans have biases, but not all are able to identify those biases and prevent them from becoming explicit. Humans make decisions using two thinking systems: our logical and intuitive systems. One is quick and requires little effort and one is slower and requires more information to process in order to make sound decisions. Each system is important to understanding how we think about biases.

It is important to understand the impact of human bias on people’s lives, human well-being, health outcomes, learning outcomes, financial outcomes, and so much more. CCLLC is proud to partner with our clients to provide a comprehensive approach to understanding and discussing human bias in order to improve relations in the workspace. Our instructors have led discussions about human bias in an array of diverse communities. CCLLC has a unique, interactive approach to encouraging people to identify their own biases and how biases can lead to certain dynamics that affect individuals in your community.

CCLLC will examine how biases are formed, nurtured, and manifested. We will have open and honest dialogue on sensitive topics to explore strategies to mitigate negative outcomes. Our training will allow you to dive into your own consciousness, examine what influences your thought processes, and behave the way you do. Our team will provide tools for you to identify your own biases in any given situation and allow you to evaluate and determine if and how your biases are productive to your safety, security, and well-being.
