Theo Chalogianis
FOUNDER
Theo Chalogianis brings over 25 years of versatile experience in security, law enforcement, and education. Holding a Psychology degree from the University of Michigan, he's held pivotal roles such as Lead Police Officer for a major University health institution, Assistant to the Director of a major University Police Department, and part-time Faculty at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI. Chalogianis serves in a law enforcement capacity as a Community Engagement team member, creating curriculums and presenting interactive safety training in supportive environments for healthcare security, clinicians and administration. Theo's dedication to safety and security extends to his tactical expertise, including training under Navy Seal Chief Chris Kyle and serving as guide and partner to the United States Secret Service Counter-Sniper Team for several Presidential visits and a dignitary protection detail for His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Additionally, he was instrumental in establishing tactical operations and deployment protocol for the largest football stadium in the United States and served as Assistant Sniper Team Leader for a major Metro SWAT Team in Michigan. Committed to excellence, Theo works with families and community leaders alike, making significant and inclusive contributions toward community empowerment through safety initiatives, trust and teamwork.

LCDR CASSANDRA AEBERSOLD
Cassandra Aebersold earned dual B.S. degrees in Psychology and Nursing from Grand Valley State University. She's currently pursuing a joint Doctor of Nursing Practice in Family Nurse Practitioner and a Master of Business Administration with a Healthcare Management focus at the University of Michigan-Flint. In the military, LCDR Aebersold served in various capacities, including the Cardiac Telemetry Step-Down Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the former Naval Hospital Bethesda. She later served in Guam and Iraq, providing critical care and coordinating medical transport. She led medical units and facilitated training after transitioning to the U.S. Navy Reserve. She serves as the Officer in Charge for the Virtual Detachment at Navy Reserve Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Bethesda. Concurrently, she is an Educational Nurse Coordinator and staff nurse at the University of Michigan, providing mentorship and training in the Adult Emergency Department.
Amanda bergeron

Amanda Bergeron brings a unique blend of experience and expertise to Chalogianis Consulting. With over a decade at the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety and Security, she honed her skills in security, safety, and empowerment. Her journey at the University of Michigan involved various roles, including lead investigator, background investigations team member, and corporal on the midnight shift. This diverse experience equipped her with in-depth knowledge of situational awareness, threat assessments, and facility security. Additionally, she has a passion for implementing lean processes and orchestrating large-scale training programs for medical staff. Beyond her career in security, Amanda possesses over 18 years of customer service experience and is a Certified Life Coach. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish a successful photography and design company, specializing in social media marketing and business support. She also holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from Arizona State University. In addition to her private ventures, Amanda dedicated 3.5 years of her career to the Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency, where she served in various capacities, including Lead Case Manager and Director of Food Programs. Currently, she serves as a Community Resource Coordinator. Amanda also serves on the Board of Directors for Hope Shores Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence and discrimination. Her mission is clear - to make communities safer and empower individuals through skills, training, and the right tools. With a deep commitment to ensuring safety and success for all, Amanda is excited to bring her expertise to Chalogianis Consulting, where she is driven to help clients achieve all their security and safety goals.

billy burton
With over a quarter century of experience in a diverse and community-facing patient-care setting, former Community Engagement Officer Billy Burton stands as one of the most seasoned instructors at Michigan Medicine. Billy's journey began in the United States Air Force, where he served as a police officer and canine handler, pioneering community relations through canine demonstrations and interactive team projects. Transitioning to Corrections Officer at Ridgeway County Jail, PA, he supported inmates' needs and managed the Work Release Center. Dedicated to fostering a supportive environment, Billy and his family were deeply involved in Foster Care programs across two states, guiding and empowering youth. An expert in relationship-building and resource equity, Billy specializes in teaching excellent customer service while prioritizing safety and individual respect. In his Community Engagement role, Billy's expertise included supporting various training programs, presentations, and supervisory duties, ensuring the safety and well-being of Michigan Medicine's community. His extensive experience and dedication to community empowerment make him an invaluable asset to any healthcare institution, academic setting, or service industry we support.
candace dorsey

Candace's dedication to service has been a lifelong commitment. With 6.5 years as a police officer in Detroit's 9th Precinct, she solidified her passion for community well-being. Holding a B.A. in Liberal Studies and an M.S. in Marketing/Management & Political Science from Eastern Michigan University, Candace spent 24.5 years at the EMU Police Department, where she served as Area Police Officer and later as Crime Prevention Coordinator. She spearheaded initiatives like the Special Victims Unit and expanded crime prevention programs university-wide. Currently, as the Empowerment Self-Defense Program Manager for the Division of Public Safety and Security, Candace collaborates with various security entities students, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan. She leads workshops on self-defense, workplace violence prevention, and situational awareness, empowering learners across the university community. Candace's leadership extends beyond the university, as she presents at conferences like The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) and leads workshops at events such as the University of Michigan Survival Flight Conference for medical first responders. Moreover, Candace holds multiple leadership roles as an instructor, including Gracie Jiu-jitsu/Gracie Survival Tactics, Sexual Harassment Assault Rape Prevention (SHARPS), Active Shooter Response (A.L.I.C.E.), and more. She also serves as a Regional Director & Instructor Trainer for RAD Systems, focusing on women's self-defense.
THOMAS GUYNES

Having earned his B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan and being a 3.5-year offensive line starter for the U-M Football Team, Thomas is a dynamic and natural leader in all that he does. He has also played seven years of professional football with the NFL in the USA, Canada and with NFL Europe. Thomas has been part of successful, hard-working teams for his entire academic, sports and professional career and exemplifies the definition of ‘working together’. He is an expert in establishing rapport and building trust, team-building and leadership - Most effectively motivating and guiding others to success and especially empowering the communities he serves. Entering his 19th year of law enforcement and currently serving as a School Resource Officer with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas is a trusted and proven resource for administration, teachers and students alike. Leading by example, he implements valuable safety protocols through regular active shooter training and daily mentoring. Thomas empowers everyone to feel safer through education and training, while spending valuable time in these same spaces, to ensure they are safer. Always giving back to his community, Thomas served as the Graduate Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Michigan and is currently a part-time faculty instructor at Washtenaw Community College. Thomas is certified through the Michigan Tactical Officers Association as a pistol and rifle instructor and an NRA CPL Instructor and Range Safety Officer; imparting his expertise upon WCC Police Academy recruits as well as experienced deputies and law enforcement leadership. Thomas holds instructor certifications and roles in several additional disciplines, including executive protection and security logistics. Thomas brings a passion for teaching and dedication to empowering those he serves. His commitment to sharing knowledge is accessible and welcoming. He utilizes sound tactics and ‘real-time’ practical applicatio to help keep communities educated, safe and prepared for any challenge.
Lieutenant Corey mills

Lieutenant Corey Mills, Lead Instructor at Chalogianis Consulting LLC, brings over 34 years of Law Enforcement experience, notably in the Ann Arbor Police Department. With a B.S. in Law Enforcement Administration from Concordia University, Corey is passionate about procedural justice and community policing. He fosters positive relationships within the community, especially with youth, and empowers his staff to do the same. As a Lieutenant, Corey supervises the Community Engagement Unit and the Problem Impact Team. He's a certified instructor in Fair and Impartial Policing, Procedural Justice, and Tactical Firearms. With 17 years on the SWAT team, he specialized as a Sniper/Observer, contributing to the safety of large events, specifically those at the largest football stadium in America. As a Part-Time Faculty instructor at Washtenaw Community College, Corey teaches tactics in the police academy, embodying transformational leadership and regularly developing lesson plans for officers. Corey's commitment to community safety is evident in his networking efforts, providing lasting resources to those in need. He emphasizes transparency in policing and educates on safety measures, developing curriculum and teaching active threat response strategies to public and private sectors. With decades of inclusive engagement, Corey inspires groups and individuals to address safety concerns and implement effective strategies. His expertise is transferable to all, promoting a safety mindset for everyone's benefit.
